I have only one resolution this year.
Start going to bed earlier.
Even though we have a strict bedtime for the kids, I've never been very good at putting myself to bed.
I love being up when everyone else is asleep. It's so tranquil, I savour the peace and enjoy simply being able to do my own thing without interruption.
Those hours between the kids going to bed and me going to bed go by so fast! I look at the clock and think "gee is that the time?!" but stall going to bed because deep down I know the sooner I go to bed, the sooner I'll be awake again and cleaning breakfast up from under the highchair.. Ho hum.
Most people say when they have children the thing they miss the most is SLEEP. Although that is also very high on my list, what I actually miss most is Time to Myself.
BUT with Ivo still waking up at least once a night and Bay up really early every single morning, sleep is probably what I really NEED. Any sensible person would be tucking themselves in as soon as they could.
Instead I find myself night after night on the couch- watching trash, surfing the net, drinking beers and eating the snacks that I don't want the kids to know we have haha!
It's fair to say nothing really good or productive happens after 10pm.
So I have decided to do myself a favour and make that my new bedtime!
Which probably sounds like the easiest resolution in the world, but is actually really hard for a hardened night owl like me!
I would love any suggestions or advice for going to bed early!
What time is everyone else going to bed?
